About THE WEEKEND
THE WEEKEND is a South African event discovery platform built for one purpose: to help you find what's happening around you — fast, easy, and without the noise.
What we do
We bring together events from varsity campuses, city venues, townships and kasis. Students pick their institution and campus. Everyone else picks their province, municipality and town. Then we show you what's on — filtered by the date that actually matters to you.
How it works
- Students: choose your province, then varsity or college, then your institution and campus.
- General: choose your province, then municipality, then your town or kasi.
- Hosts: apply for a host account. Once approved, you can upload your event with dates, venue, description and poster.
Why hosts use us
Because your event deserves to be seen by the right people. We put your event in front of users who have already said they're in your area and free on your date. No spam, no irrelevant clicks.
Our promise
- No phone calls — contact us by email only.
- Your ID number is never stored. We only use it once to confirm you are 18 or older.
- Free for hosts while we are in testing.
- Your data stays yours.
