Important disclaimer

THE WEEKEND is a listing platform only. We do not organise, host, control, or manage any event listed on this site. We do not sell tickets. We do not run venues. We do not employ any performer, promoter, or organiser.

All events are the sole responsibility of the host who uploaded them. If you attend an event listed on THE WEEKEND and anything goes wrong, your claim lies with the host — not with us.

1. Acceptance

By using THE WEEKEND (whether as a user or a host), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. Who can use the site

You must be 18 or older to become a host.
You must provide truthful information when applying as a host.
You must not use the site for anything illegal in South Africa.

3. Host responsibilities

If you upload an event on THE WEEKEND, you confirm that:

You are authorised to promote that event.
All event details (date, venue, description, poster) are accurate.
Your event complies with South African law.
You will honour any tickets sold through links you provide.
You will not upload content that is hateful, sexually explicit, illegal, or misleading.

We reserve the right to remove any event without notice, and to suspend or delete any host account that breaks these rules.

4. User responsibilities

If you attend an event listed on THE WEEKEND:

You attend at your own risk.
You are responsible for your own safety and belongings.
You must follow the venue's rules and the host's instructions.
You must not attend if you are under the age required by the event.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by South African law, THE WEEKEND, its owners, operators, and staff:

Are not liable for any loss, injury, damage, or death occurring at any event listed on the site.
Are not liable for any incorrect information provided by a host.
Are not liable for any cancellation, postponement, or change made by a host or venue.
Are not liable for the quality, safety, or legality of any event.

This limitation does not apply to gross negligence, fraud, or dishonesty on our part.

6. Third-party ticket links

Some events link to external ticketing platforms. We do not control those platforms. Your purchase is governed by their terms, not ours. Direct all refund and ticket queries to the relevant platform.

7. Content

By uploading content to THE WEEKEND, you grant us a free, worldwide licence to display that content on our platform for the purpose of promoting your event.

8. Termination

We may suspend or delete any account (user or host) at any time, for any reason, without notice.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. The date at the top of this page tells you when it last changed.

10. South African law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of South Africa.
